O Immaculate Queen,
Our Lady of Willesden, we consecrate ourselves and all we have and
are to you forever in your holy Shrine. Make this Shrine glorious
as of old. Bring pilgrims to worship at it. Convey their prayers
to God in your own hands. Pray for us all. Pray for the conversion
of all people to the religion of your Divine Son. And obtain pardon
and mercy for our beloved Dead who have gone before us with the
sign of faith and sleep the sleep of peace. Amen.
(Cardinal Francis Bourne granted an Indulgence of 200 days
for this prayer in 1928)
Virgin Mother of God who didst grant great and manifold
graces to those who came as pilgrims to thy Shrine in Willesden,
deign to pardon the crimes committed in ages past by lawless men
who burnt thy image in scorn of thy love and majesty. Accept, we
beseech thee, our act of atonement in this place where thy image
is once again enthroned. In thee we place our hope that thou mayest
graciously hear thy children as in days of yore. May God at thy
intercession show us His mercy through the same Christ our Lord.
Amen.
(Composed by Canon J. P. Arendzen; an Indulgence of 300 days
for the recitation of this prayer was granted by Cardinal Bernard
Griffin in 1948)
Virgin Mother of God, through your intercession many pilgrims
to your Shrine, here in Willesden, have received great graces from
Heaven. We come now to offer atonement for the insults of the past,
when your effigy was disfigured and burned, and to honour the Shrine
where you are once again enthroned. Intercede for us that we may
all be brought together in perfect unity of faith and love, ever
obedient to your Divine Son. May God our Father grant us this grace
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
(Composed by Dom Gregory Murray, O.S.B.)
Our Lady of Willesden,
we come to you as our mother, who always understands her children,
consoles us in our troubles, is close to us in times of difficulty,
and searches us out, wherever we are, even if we have strayed. May
you intercede for us that we may all be brought together in unity
of faith and love in following your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Hymn Lady, all the world is thine, Every man can call thee
‘mine’, Yet amongst us is thy shrine, Of thy love to us a sign.
Lovely Lady, without stain, Wide as heaven is thy reign, Yet amongst
us didst thou deign, Have a home to our sweet gain. Dwell again
amongst us here, Let us hold thy image dear, Hold thy Son in loving
fear While His Mother we revere. Till we all in blissful sight,
Having fought the Christian fight, See thee standing at His right,
Glorying in endless light. (Composed by Canon J. P. Arendzen)
